Gonzalo Gerfloy does his work based on his idea that art should move, should impress, otherwise it would be completely boring. Based on this idea he seeks to capture the beauty where it is not usually found, in the dark, in the deformed. In his sculptures he likes to deform the human body and combine it with elements such as parts of animals, flowers, bones, branches, etc ...
The most recurrent theme in his work is the spiritual development, the formation of self-awareness, so that one can also find in a very subtle spiritual symbology such as alchemy and initiatory aspects.
Every time Gonzalo is going to start a sculpture, he thinks that this monster, that being should impress him, he must move something internally or he should not be "born", so his process is long, well thought out and mainly good. internalized.
